Hospitality without human touch? Introducing restaurant self-service technology strategies to sustain customer experience
Last December 4, 2024, the UP Asian Institute of Tourism hosted a lecture titled “Hospitality without human touch? Introducing restaurant self-service technology strategies to sustain customer experience,” featuring Dr. Wangoo Lee of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Dr. Lee presented about the rise of self-service technologies in restaurants. Dr. Lee discussed several examples of technologies, such as AI avatars, that are utilized in restaurants. Additionally, Dr. Lee talked about the usefulness of gamification in restaurants, and it was demonstrated through an interactive game.
The lecture was attended by faculty, staff, and students from AIT and UP, along with participants from outside the university.
