AIT Graduate Programs OK'd by the University Council

After six years in the making, the graduate program offerings of AIT have finally been approved by the University Council of UP Diliman during their 141st meeting held on February 20, 2017. The approval would pave way for AIT to offer the Master of Science in Tourism Development and Management (MS TDM) program and the Graduate Diploma in Tourism Development and Management (GDip TDM) program to tourism advocates and practitioners very soon.

The AIT Faculty are in a celebratory mood after a successful presentation before the University Council.

The master's degree program and the graduate diploma are intended to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex processes of development and management of a globally competitive tourism industry.

In addition, the research component of these programs will allow for a needed expansion in the body of research on tourism in the Philippines. In its content and delivery, it is envisioned that these programs will be intentionally competitive and will be able to serve the existing and emerging needs of the SEA region. These programs will specifically focus on Philippine and ASEAN issues within the global context and the realities within which we live and do business.

These program offerings are in consistency with AIT's pursuit to be a world-class provider of tourism education, and are an active response to the demand from passionate public and private tourism practitioners, as well as entrepreneurs, for a tourism graduate degree program in the country's premiere University.

The Institute will release more specifics about these degree programs very soon.
